Sawiris Foundation
The Nursing Program is an integral component of Gouna Technical Nursing Institute (GTNI). Founded as a private non-profit organization by its governing organization, Sawiris Foundation for Social Development (SFSD), and situated under the Ministry of Higher Education, the GTNI is committed to excellence in scholarship and service. In concurrence with the mission of the GTNI and the SFSD, the nursing faculty accept the responsibility of providing an environment in which the learner can gain a breadth of knowledge in the humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences as well as an in-depth understanding of one sector of learning. The faculty believe that by fostering both personal and professional growth from a holistic perspective, they encourage the student to become a positive influence on the nursing profession and society.
The Nursing Program is committed to the education of nurses at Technical Diploma level. However, the faculty believe that multiple levels of nursing practice exist. The program builds a solid foundation for future endeavors in professional development and educational mobility and provides opportunities upon graduation for bachelor’s degree level study through its collaboration with other distinguished higher educational institutions within Egypt.
The Sawiris Foundation for Social Development provides fully funded scholarships for all selected candidates providing a good standard of accommodation, food and required educational material.
Accommodation
A good standard of accommodation is provided as part of the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development’s scholarship which is situated within proximity to Gouna Technical Nursing Institute’s campus..
Separate living quarters are given for male and female students and House Supervisors oversee students out of class time. Offered housing is well equipped with living essentials including cable TV and Wi-Fi. Student housing is divided into a study room, a common area, a kitchen, a laundry room and sleeping rooms.
Accommodation Facilities
Teaching And Learning
- Our class rooms provide modern teaching facilities; the institute is equipped with state-of-the-art educational aids including nursing clinical skills laboratories, a specialized electronic library and a computer lab connected to the educational database to enable students to develop their scientific and practical skills.
Simulation Laboratories
- The institute boasts Simulation laboratories, which include specialized manikins and equipment, to enable students to develop their skills and gain practical experience to supplement their theoretical knowledge.
Resources
- GTNI has an up-to-date library and a computer laboratory with internet access for all students to enable access to health-related research databases. GTNI also provides e-learning technology for students to aid their learning through Moodle, in addition to, Elsevier, EBSCO and Egyptian Knowledge Bank databases.
Food
- An outdoor and indoor modern cafeteria provides meals for students, seven days a week. Different supermarkets and restaurants are also available in the area.
Transportation
- Free transportation is provided by the institute. Daily buses take the students from and to GTNI’s Campus, housing, and partner hospitals.
